N's Book Nook

Book suggestions from one kid to another. Hope you like the books as much as I did. -NAC

N's Review: This was a funny book. Hank is in a robot competition but he forgets a lot and that makes things hard for him. Especially since he forgot about the contest and that he doesn't know how to build a robot. So funny! Cracked me up!

N's Review: This was a hysterical book because all of the things the  mischievous things the Alligator does. It was a fun book to read.

A story of friendship and loss. N's Review: It’s a sad story but has a nice ending for little bot.

N's Review: I liked the song that the boy sings in this story. It made me feel happy.

N's Review: This was a good one! I liked it because when the boy goes into the future it doesn't exactly turnout the way he expected. Another fun book to read.

N's Review: What I really like is that this book is about real events.  I learned that kids can make a big difference in the world.  And that the real life characters were pretty awesome.

Art and Max is a great book full of humor that kids can enjoy.

N's Review: When I finish the book I figured out something, every child is an artist.  Some people already know they are artists, while  some people just can’t find their inner art but when they do they,  can unlock new worlds. All you  need to do is get up,  turn off their current technology, and go paint.

N's Review: I think other kids should read Scott Kelly’s book because it teaches you how to get through life and make it to your destiny. Scott Kelly spent a year in space and shared his story about it. No matter how big your problems are,  you have to find some way to push through it just like he did every day while he was in space.

I’d Really Like To Eat a Child Read a Loud
It’s a funny story about a very picky eater.

N's Review: Grump Duck is a great book that teaches kids not to spread their grumpiness. It’s like the flu and spreads like a virus to everyone leaving them all unhappy. It is a lesson to keep your grumpiness to yourself.

Not Inside this House by Kevin Luis
Read aloud by Elizabeth JimĂ©nez

The Friendship Puzzle is a great book if you want to teach your child or another to help understand some of the signs of recognizing Autism, how to help and or befriend someone who is a bit different then you are and giving them the opportunity to let you get to know them.

N's Review: Awesome! It helps you learn about Autism. 6/4/18

This a about bullying and how to deal with your bully. Finding common ground can sometimes help befriend the bully.

N's Review: Epic! It teaches you how to conquer your bullies. It broke my heart instantly. I didn't like that they teased her and called her weirdo and that she was so sad. I liked that once she told Bully B about all the things she liked that they finally were able to be friends and that Bully B stopped being so mean. 6/4/18

Playground Survival really is a handbook of sorts on how to deal with certain situations that might come up in school. It presents scenarios and provides find solutions.

N's Review: I loved it! At first it didn't get my attention much but the stories got my attention because they teach you to not treat people badly but to treat them like your equals. No matter if you're rich or poor. To not call people names or treat them badly if they have disabilities or look different from you. It is important to learn not to be a bully and this book gives you a chance to learn it when you read it. It is important to treat people well and fairly. 6/4/18
